I have two questions ...........?

I'm taking a study tour to Spain, France and Italy in the spring of 2010. I will be taking AP Spanish next year so I know Spanish. French I learned last year and I have not used much and do not know a word of Italian. I will not buy anything because I I do not know if I'm definitley going yet and I want to learn it during the summer. So the first question, Where can I learn Italian online for free? I want a place where you can learn grammar and vocabulary. I know some schools offer language courses online for free. What to offer it in Italian? Where I learn more? I want something that is more advanced than the BBC site, which is a great site, but I'm not a big fan of hers. Also, what are good sites to advanced French classes or simply reviewing vocabulary and grammar? Thank you! I've been taking Spanish for 5 years. My Spanish teacher and I chit-chat in French from time to time.

I've been taking French classes for almost a year and can be easy if you have a good instructor. You should start with the basics like numbers, letters and simple sentences. Once you feel comfortable that things can move into more advanced, time to care about the talks complete. As to how long it takes to learn, depending on the student. Some are well within the first 2 years of classes, for another 4 years or more not uncommon. I personally have never tried Rosetta Stone, but I hear it is a great program and could be the way forward if needed to learn the language fast for their work. But I think the best thing to do than read up on the subject, in addition to taking classes. French is not difficult. While you have a good teacher, a willingness to learn, and a positive mindset, you can master the French language in just a few years Bon Chance! (good luck)
