I want to learn French, but Donno Where To Turn ...?

The whole family My best friend is French. All friends of her parents are French and fall the U.S. there is plenty of country of origin: FRANCE! The first time I went to his house his fam freinds were there and all they knew was French. Caught in a few words like Qua? (what) and Huy (yes). But the rest was like a blur cuz they were talking very fast. So to get the point, I wonder where friends can learn without having to buy a course or books or software or paying att all (as a free online learning center SUMTHING or so). If haw anyone even the slightest knowlegde of a type of place up here please and I will be very grateful. The person with the most and best responses GES marked the best answer for them. ~ Me

I do not know of any programs online for free. I have a couple of ideas for you. Check your local university. They often have courses in "conversation" languages that are very practical and provide a foundation for learning. The courses, although not free, are usually very cheap. Go to your local public library and check a French language audio and video learning program. Most libraries have at least one of these programs and you can use at will. When you make one or both of these things start speak French with her best friend. Get him / her to help! Repetition and practice is what helps people learn a foreign language. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know where I can download the French language audio books online? Preferably in a torrent site. I've been looking at a few torrent sites but have not had much luck.
