French and Italian is a difficult language to learn independently?

Hello everyone. After a long desicion, I decided to take America in my eighth grade just because I have heard many times that will help me learn other languages independently. With the basic knowladge America, is it difficult learn French and Italian? And if we learned some of these languages independently, with what resources have you used? Thank you very much muchhh. Uhmm I think I have explained wrong. I was wondering if anyone has learned Latin and French / Italian for themselves (as in no school classes or what-not) how difficult it was and how they learned.

I'm learning French right now, not that hard. I have not taken Latin or anything, but I know from Finland (some, anyway) from France and Italy are similar, I've heard, so it's not that difficult.
